Couples who love animals and who are looking for alternative wedding presents should visit Well-vetted Gifts (www.wellvettedgifts.co.uk), the official website of veterinary charity PDSA (The People's Dispensary for Sick Animals). By contributing to this charity, your friends and family can help raise funds to treat and care for sick and injured pets.
"The charity is dependent on the goodwill of our supporters to carry out our work. All the presents available on the website are vital to our day to day procedures that enable PDSA staff to keep pets happy and healthy," says John Cole, head of marketing at PDSA.
From as little as £10, your contribution could go towards funding x-ray films, an ECG test, or an operating table. For more gift ideas, visit www.wellvettedgifts.co.uk

| Gifts for those in need |
 |
If you've not yet put together a wedding gift list, we think you should consider setting up a UNICEF Big Day List. This gives couples the chance to ask for life saving equipment to be delivered directly to children in need, all around the world. The usual, uninspiring, request for unnecessary crockery can be replaced with essential supplies for those in need. Vital things such as food, water, shelter and vaccines can all be added to the list, allowing guests to choose which item to fund.
Best of all the list is easily set up online and there are items suitable for a range of budgets. Gift ideas include £12 to fund the immunisation of 100 children against polio, or £16 for an emergency box of high-energy biscuits that will be delivered directly to children at risk of malnutrition. Friends and families looking to club together, can give £340 which will be enough for UNICEF to install a water pump to supply clean and safe to drinking water for an entire village.
For each gift purchased, the happy couple receive either an eGreeting or a greeting card with a photograph, description and personalised message to mark the occasion.

If you're looking for gift or favour ideas for your wedding, do your bit for charity by checking out the Swarovski designs in aid of Breast Cancer awareness month. Swarovski has designed a pretty limited edition pink crystal and enamel pendant, and a matching pink pen, filled with sparkly pink crystals. The pendant retails at £35, with £15 from each sale going to Breast Cancer Care. The pink pen will retail at £14 with £1 from every sale going to the charity. Both products will be available in Swarovski stores from October.
Murray Lindo, director of fundraising at Breast Cancer Care, says: "We are delighted to be extending our successful partnership with Swarovski this year. We have been working together since 2002 and are extremely grateful for all the support we have received from Swarovski over these years.
"Every 11 minutes, somebody in the UK hears the news that they have breast cancer, and we want to offer support to each and every one of them, and their friends and families, right from the moment of diagnosis, through to living with the disease."

| What a charming creation |

The new autumn/winter collection from jewellery designer Claudia Bradby has some of the prettiest designs we've ever seen...
The collection, aptly named Charmed, contains a selection of beautifully delicate sterling silver charms, perfect for adding to necklaces and bracelets. Brides-to-be can also use them to embellish handbags and shoes for an utterly romantic vintage feel. There are three designs to choose from, but our favourite has to be this bird design, priced at £45.

Couples looking for a grand wedding venue in which to get hitched should definitely take a look at Clevedon Hall, which has just been granted a ceremony licence to hold civil weddings and partnerships.
This is the first time in the outstanding Victorian mansion's 150-year history that Clevedon Hall has been available for private events, and it hopes to become one of the top wedding venues in the region.
Clevedon Hall has 12 different but equally beautiful rooms and extensive grounds, which includes a lake with three islands. The venue will be offered on an exclusive-use basis for weddings, while the layout means that it is equally suitable for smaller and larger scale celebrations.
